Lieutenant Andrew Kinard, age 26, of Spartanburg, SC led a Light Armored Vehicle platoon in Al Anbar Province, Iraq after graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 2005. In October 2006, while conducting a foot patrol, Four days after being blasted to pieces, Andrew Kinard was in the intensive care unit at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, with his family around his bedside — and still praying.
