PHOENIX (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda was carted off the field and taken to the hospital after being hit in the head. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda was hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Arizona pinch-hitter Rusty Ryal. Ryal, replacing D'Backs starter Doug Davis, hit a 2-2 pitch right back up the middle. Hiroki Kuroda was the recipient of a bean ball alongside his head in the Dodgers versus Diamondbacks game. Rusty Ryal lined a pitch that stuck Hiroki Kuroda in royal fashion right in the temple. He was taken off the field on a stretcher
