Kara Kennedy Allen, Ted Kennedy's only daughter had Inoperable Lung Cancer as diagnosed in 2002 when she was 42. Miraculously Kara Kennedy Allen now 49, is still with us.. In late 2003, Kara was identified with not curable lung cancer. Under the soaring dome and saint-covered arches of the basilica, a church Kennedy had frequented almost daily while his daughter, Kara, fought lung cancer at a nearby hospital, over a dozen Kennedy family members accompanied the casket
