Another wild college football weekend in which three of the top six teams lost created plenty of waves in the USA TODAY coaches poll. The Broncos climbed three places this week to No.5. It is the highest ranking ever for the Broncos in the coaches poll, even surpassing their No. 6 finish in the final rankings following their perfect 2006 campaign. Last week: 7. Result: Beat Texas Tech 29-28. Current AP rank: 12. Next up: at UTEP Comment: Cougs' rankings fate tied to success of Oklahoma State and TTU (to a lesser extent), unless they falter. 4. Florida (4-0) Last week: 5 .. Everyone (Cal fans, Stanford fans, Oregon fans, Trojan fans, etc) has been trying to educate you about the nuances of college football scheduling.
