I couldn't bring myself to tackle Nanny Schafer's recipe. And I never did order a doughnut cutter like I had planned. (Note to Tom: A great Christmas present idea!) Because of our German (Pa. Dutch) ancestry we celebrate faschnaut day, which loosely translates into donut day.A faschnaut is a particular kind of donut. However that loose translation mean anything the seel at Dunkin' Donuts!
