Paczki Day or Fastnacht Day or Fausnaught Day - whatever you call it, today is the day to eat those fatty doughnuts. Fastnacht or Faschnacht Day is related to Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday or start of Lent. Today is also Fausnaught Day! Technically it is Fasnacht Day, but we Americanized my name a long time ago and just spell it differently. Think there are any bragging rights for having “Fat Tuesday” as your family holiday? On this day. Call it what you will; Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras,pancake day (in France) or, as I knew it growing up; Fausnaught Day (aka Donut Day).
