CenturyTel's $10.6 billion acquisition of Qwest Communications will bring together two second-tier telecommunications companies that will control a larger percentage of a declining market— landlines. Telecom giant CenturyLink has purchased Qwest, the two companies announced on Thursday. The tax-free, stock-for-stock deal is worth nearly $10.5 billion, but burdens CenturyLink with Qwest's $11.8 billion in debt. The famous internet company named Qwest, was looking up for a long time now, a buyer that could acquire the company and run it at its best as well as take on.
