The Syttende Mai or the national Norwegian day is celebrated on the seventeenth of May every year. The Syttende Mai started in 1814 after the constitution was. MyBallard cameras will be there to capture all the excitement of the Syttende Mai (17th of May) festivities today. Here's a rundown of all the events around Ballard on this Norwegian Constitution Day: 10am to 5pm: Nordic Heritage Museum The Syttende Mai Picnic was held at Carderock Park again this yearright along the Potomac River. The weather was absolutely perfect! I helped with some of the setup and cleanup, but mainly just enjoyed the day.
